Confidence first; learning follows!

About GemBridge

At GemBridge Tuition, I support children and young people who need learning to feel safe, personalised and achievable. Whatever their learning level, I meet them where they are. I’m a fully qualified and experienced teacher having worked across mainstream primary and specialist secondary provision school settings. I provide tailored tuition in English, reading and maths. I’m officially certified as a dyslexia coach, EBSA support specialist and neurodiversity coach. I always hold a full and up to date enhanced DBS check.

👩‍🏫 About Me

I’m Gem — a specialist SEND tutor and parent with lived experience navigating complex SEN and EHCP processes.

Over the past few years, I have supported children academically while also advocating for my own child through diagnosis, EBSA and EHCP provision.

I understand both sides:
The professional perspective.
And the parent perspective.

I specialise in supporting a wide range of needs including:

• Dyslexia
• Dyscalculia
• Higher attainers with low confidence
• EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
• Autism (ASD)
• ADHD
• Speech and Language Delay
• Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)

Every session is carefully tailored to the individual child — building confidence first, then progress.

My Approach

I deliver:

✔ English, maths and phonics (curriculum based, but on stage not age, for your child)
✔ Foundational skills and confidence building sessions in reading, writing or maths
✔ 1:1 online personalised tuition or small group sessions
✔ EHCP-aligned support and progress tracking
✔ EBSA reintegration support

✔ SATS support for anxious learners

Sessions are:

In person face to face tuition or online 1-1 and group tuition.

• Low-demand
• Regulation-aware
• Structured and predictable
• Visual and multi-sensory
• Designed to reduce anxiety around learning

I believe education should adapt to the child — not the other way around.

Testimonials

“My boy always shyed away from reading and felt ‘not good enough’ next to his peers. It was really hard as a parent to know what to do when he refused to read at home. Gem quickly taught him that his brain is simply wired in a different way and that he has just as much if not more to give. Little by little he has learnt how to make sense of words and what he is reading and loves constructing his stories with Gem. I now have a little book worm! Thank you Gem for building his confidence!”

(Maz - K)

“Gem makes sure that she knows what to expect in all of her lessons. I can see her confidence growing. She is no longer like a rabbit in the headlights with her maths. Gem breaks everything down in a way that she understands and she is no longer afraid to give it a go.

(Lewis - D)
